CRMR annual symposium « Braving the climate: reshaping the value chain with panache! » – November 29, 2023, registration required!

29 November 2023

Activity reserved for CRMR members only!

The Renewable Materials Research Center (CRMR) is pleased to invite you to its annual symposium, which will offer you an original and multidisciplinary program under the theme « Braving the climate: reshaping the value chain with panache!».  The event will take place in person on November 29, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Gene-H.-Kruger Pavilion (room 2320-2330) at Laval University in Quebec City.

The objective of this symposium is to bring together all CRMR members to exchange and acquire new knowledge on the Centre’s various research themes, as well as to strengthen collaboration and their professional network.

The symposium will feature a poster session presenting student projects, presentations from various college technology transfer centers (Serex, Inovem and Innofibre), and conference and a round table covering a wide range of topics, bringing together expertise from different disciplines in connection with the theme of this event. A detailed program of the event will be announced shortly.

All members (research, technical and administrative staff, faculty, or student community) must register to take part in the event. Students are also invited to participate in a poster session to present their research projects.

Please complete this form to register. The deadline for symposium registration is November 15, 2023.

Information on the poster competition and how to participate in the session is presented below.

Poster competition:

On this day, a student poster competition will be organized to showcase your various projects. This session is open to all master’s and doctoral students, regardless of whether they are at the beginning, middle, or end of a project. Three prizes will be awarded to the three best posters ($350, $250 and $150).

The main criteria to be considered in preparing posters are:

  • The poster must be well popularized and the content must be clear for a diverse audience (different fields of research).
  • The sections to be respected are as follows: Introduction, Methodology, Results or Expected results according to your progress, and Conclusions.
  • The conclusion should mention the scope of the project and/or any industrial spin-offs.
  • Horizontal posters that have been produced for previous events are accepted, however, for those who intend to produce a poster for this competition, we ask that you do so in vertical format (91.4 x 121.2 cm) to facilitate poster management during the day.
  • Posters can be in English or French.

The main criteria for evaluating posters are aesthetics, level of scientific popularization, clarity, and scientific content.

To register for the poster competition, please fill in the registration form at the top before 4 p.m. on October 31, 2023.

We will confirm your registration and send you more detailed information at the end of the registration period.
