Congratulations to Evelyne Thiffault, recipient of the « Teacher Excellence Award for the year 2023»!

Laval University’s annual recognition ceremony, presided over by the Rector, Sophie D’Amours, and the Vice-Rector, Academic and Student Affairs, responsible for Health, Cathia Bergeron, was held on December 6, 2023. Over $28,000 in pedagogical development funds were awarded to the winners of this prestigious competition.

On this occasion, Laval University unveiled the names of its faculty and teaching staff members who have won a «Teaching Excellence Award for the year 2023». This award recognizes a faculty member who has distinguished himself/herself by the excellence of his/her practices and the means used to foster student learning, as well as by adopting a stimulating and motivating approach to the subject he/she teaches.

Congratulations to  Evelyne Thiffault, Associate Professor in the Wood and Forest Sciences Department,  in the Faculty of Forestry, Geography, and Geomatics (FFGG)  and regular researcher at the Renewable Materials Research Centre, who received the «Distinction in Teaching Award for Professors», along with a $4,000 bursary.

This is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding commitment to teaching. Her dedication to teaching has undeniably had a positive impact on the academic community, inspiring her colleagues and motivating her students.

Professor Evelyne Thiffault’s ability to foster exchanges, establish meaningful contacts with her students, and pass on her passion is remarkable. Her commitment and benevolence are expressed through excellence, rigor and innovation, values that make her an exceptional teacher. Congratulations to Evelyne Thiffault on this well-deserved award, and we wish you every success in your future projects and contributions to research and teaching.
