Congratulations to Alex Mary, winner of the honorable mention of the “2024 TRFA Excellence in Thermoset Polymer Research” competition!
Alex Mary, a PhD candidate in Wood and Bio-based Materials Engineering at Laval University under the supervision of Professor Pierre Blanchet and the co-supervision of Professor Véronic Landry, will have the opportunity to attend the annual meeting of the Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA) from May 6 to 9, 2024 to receive a $500 prize and present her project on “Upcycling of Protein Concentrates from Industrial Byproducts into Polyurethane Wood Adhesives“.

Résumé :
La Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA) a mis en place le concours ” Excellence in Thermoset Polymer Research “afin d’encourager et de reconnaître les avancées dans les domaines de la science, de l’ingénierie et de la technologie des polymères thermodurcissables et de leurs formulations, utilisés dans une variété d’applications industrielles telles que les adhésifs, les produits d’étanchéité, les encapsulants électroniques, les revêtements, les composites et les composés de moulage. Il a pour but d’offrir aux étudiants chercheurs une visibilité et une exposition à de futurs employeurs potentiels.
