This prestigious award, along with the title of Fellow, represents ASTM’s most prestigious distinction, recognizing not only his outstanding contributions to the Wood Committee but also his dedication and expertise in this field.

Alexander Salenikovich is a full professor in the department of wood and forest sciences in the Faculty of forestry, geography and geomatics at Laval University, and a member of the renewable materials research Centre (CRMR). He teaches structural wood design, wood mechanical properties, and testing methods. His research interests focus on the design of wood structures resistant to high winds and earthquakes, wood assembly, including structural screws and glued rods, and the development of test procedures. He is the author of over 120 journal and conference papers and edited the Proceedings of the 2014 World Congress on Wood Engineering.
Mr. Salenikovich is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), the Society of Wood Science and Technology, the CSA A257 TC wood design group, the CSA A370 TC wood products group, and the Canadian Mirror Committee (CMC) of ISO/TC 165 wood structures. He is Vice-Chair of ASTM International’s D7 Wood Committee, and ANSI/APA PRG 320 CLT Committee. He is also president of the Canadian Mirror Committee (CMC) of ISO/TC 218 on wood, and of the subcommittee on connections.
