Congratulations to Coralie Offroy, Ilias El Ouahabi, and Tiam Mahmoudiam, recipients of the CRMR motivation scholarships!

21 April 2026

The CRMR warmly congratulates Coralie Offroy, Ilias El Ouahabi, and Tiam Mahmoudiam, winners of the $250 motivation scholarships. The draw for these scholarships took place during the CRMR assembly on April 20, 2026.

These scholarships aim to encourage students to submit applications for merit- and nomination-based awards, while supporting access to research and the pursuit of academic excellence.

In a context where excellence scholarships offered by funding agencies (NSERC, FRQNT, SSHRC, etc.) play a key role in academic careers, these initiatives are designed to stimulate research interest, support high-quality applications, and encourage graduate studies, particularly at the master’s and doctoral levels.

In 2025, CRMR implemented several concrete actions to support students in preparing their applications. These include the regular dissemination of information on scholarship programs via email, the website, and social media, as well as writing support sessions. Two workshops were dedicated to Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) scholarships, led by Professor Véronic Landry. A third interactive workshop allowed students to benefit from the experience of excellence scholarship recipients, including Luc Lionel Girompaire, Philippe Riel, Antoine Harel, and Benjamin Turgeon, while also receiving personalized support.

CRMR also promoted the sharing of successful scholarship applications to provide concrete examples, better understand evaluation criteria, and help candidates improve their own submissions. Finally, three $250 incentive scholarships were awarded to recognize and encourage participation efforts.

These initiatives had a positive impact, with 15 scholarship applications submitted in 2025, reflecting strong engagement from the student community.

👏 CRMR congratulates all students who submitted an application this year and once again extends its congratulations to the three recipients of the motivation scholarships. The Centre will continue its efforts to optimize these measures and better respond to the evolving needs of the student community. Please feel free to share your experiences and recommendations to help us improve our initiatives and better support you.
