About the conference speaker and presentation content

Claudie-Maude Canuel, forestry engineer and doctoral student in forestry sciences, Department of Wood and Forest Sciences, Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics, Laval  University. Her PhD focuses on the integration of forest biomass supply with harvesting operations for bioenergy production, within the framework of climate change mitigation. She is affiliated with Natural Resources Canada’s Wood Fibre Centre and has been working on several projects related to forest bioenergy value chains in Eastern Canada since 2019.

In autumn 2023, she  completed an internship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver to learn more about forest bioenergy value chains in Western Canada and to understand the social, economic and ecological context in which they operate. His lecture addressed a comparative analysis of the development of forest bioenergy value chains between British Columbia and Quebec, with a focus on forestry sector activities. While British Columbia seems to benefit from infrastructure and operational know-how, Quebec could benefit from its history of collaboration.

The conference speaker expressed her deep gratitude for the financial and moral support!
