The team at the Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Buildings (CRC-BD), led by Professor Pierre Blanchet, is pleased to welcome Annie Gosselin as a research professional since March 16, 2026.

With a rich background firmly rooted in sustainable construction issues, Annie stands out for her multidisciplinary expertise and deep understanding of current and emerging challenges in the building sector. Her arrival represents a significant asset for the Chair, which continues to develop innovative and structuring projects in sustainability. In her role, she will actively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of research projects. She will also participate in strategic discussions aimed at identifying and seizing new funding opportunities, while strengthening the Chair’s positioning as a leading player in sustainable building research.

Both an entrepreneur and an intrapreneur at heart, Annie is driven by a deep passion for innovation and strategic development in the wood, bio-based, and prefabricated construction sectors. Her career, shaped at the intersection of academic, governmental, and industrial environments, has enabled her to develop a comprehensive and integrated vision of the key issues in the forest sector and its associated value chains.

Guided by the conviction that wood and bio-based materials play a key role in the transition toward a low-carbon economy, she is particularly interested in high-value transformation levers, optimizing construction methods, and strengthening the competitiveness of the sector in both local and international markets. She pays close attention to decarbonization, cost efficiency, market diversification, and skills development, which she considers inseparable from the long-term sustainability of the industry.

She is distinguished by her ability to lead ambitious and structuring projects, mobilize stakeholders with diverse interests, and orchestrate strategies that generate concrete outcomes.
