On October 17, 2025, during the Student Research Day organized by the Canadian Biomaterials Society – Eastern Canada, at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), our students Tiam Mahmoudian and Sara Etminanrezaeieh, enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Wood Engineering and Bio-based Materials and members of the Wood-Based Composite Panel Research Consortium, represented our team with excellence.
Under the supervision of Professor Alain Cloutier, Tiam Mahmoudian presented the latest results of her doctoral project entitled: « Modeling Moisture Transfer in Particleboard and MDF Panels Intended for Outdoor Use ».
Under the supervision of Professor Véronique Landry, Sara Etminanrezaeieh presented her project entitled: « Development of a Lignin-Based Adhesive: Adhesive Properties and Panel Performance ».
These presentations highlight their commitment and contribution to advancing research on sustainable and bio-based materials, which are essential for a more environmentally responsible industry. Their work aligns with the consortium’s objectives to develop innovative solutions for wood-based composite panels.
👏 Congratulations to Tiam and Sara on this remarkable achievement and their involvement in the scientific community!
