On November 26 and 27, 2025, the Quebec and Eastern Ontario Section of the ACI held its annual gathering in Boucherville, an event dedicated to technical presentations, scientific exchanges, and discussions on the latest advances in concrete technology.
During the event, Seyed Ali Emamian, a PhD student in civil engineering at Université Laval under the supervision of Luca Sorelli, was recognized as one of the recipients of the 2025 ACI-Québec Scholarship, valued at $4,000. His research focuses on the development of low-carbon, ultra-durable concrete through the integration of recycled materials and the optimization of mix design to improve compaction density and long-term performance. The goal is to reduce cement usage, decrease environmental impact, and provide a more efficient and durable concrete.
Congratulations to Seyed Ali Emamian for this outstanding recognition and for his valuable contribution to research!
The ACI-Québec Scholarship aims to encourage innovation in concrete research, support emerging researchers, and promote sustainable construction practices across Quebec.
Kudos to all participants and recipients for their valuable contributions to the field!
