Conference summary: Forests cover 40% of Canada. But how are they managed from coast to coast? Monica Gagnier will share her varied experiences: forestry internships across British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as her Master’s research in Ontario and New Brunswick. Discover what she’s learned about forest management in Canada, as well as striking and sometimes unusual anecdotes from the field. This conference promises to be a source of inspiration for a better understanding of Canadian forestry issues and practices.

Speaker bio: Originally from Ontario, Monica has always had a passion for the outdoors. In 2018, she began a bachelor’s degree in forest management and environment at Université Laval. Driven by a desire to understand forest management on a national scale, she completed internships in various Canadian regions: the West, the Prairies, the Centre and the Maritimes. These experiences have enriched her vision and skills in forestry. Today, Monica enthusiastically shares her learnings and adventures to inspire her peers.
