Conference summary: Conducting research requires a considerable amount of scientific and methodological knowledge. However, beyond these elements, scientific research unfolds in an environment made up of collaborations with peers, partnerships with local players, a new generation of researchers to train, infrastructures to manage, institutional expectations in terms of productivity, and so on. As a result, everyone involved in research is faced with the challenge of « knowing how to behave ». What are the best practices to adopt? What are the key values that guide our conduct in research? How can we ensure that our various actions in research, and our interactions with colleagues, are consistent with responsible science? And why is this important?
