Forestry Science Weeks 2026: March 16–22!

The Forestry Sciences Week (ssf) is a series of events aimed at promoting forestry, raising public awareness, and providing students, professionals, and enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and discover the many functions, resources, and uses of Quebec’s forests. Several highlights are on the schedule: Research Day (March 16), Engineering in Trees (March 19), Tales and Legends (March 17), the FSW Symposium (March 18), and the Forest Fair (March 21–22).

Don’t miss the 47th edition of the Forest Expo, under the theme « In a Forest Near You ! » The event will take place on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alphonse-Desjardins Pavilion, Université Laval.

Open to everyone, this unmissable event will bring together key players from forestry-related sectors and offer a rich and varied program: a photo contest, student booths, a youth area, diverse lectures, as well as an outdoor space featuring a fully functional multipurpose harvester and other surprises!

The ssf will also host its traditional forestry tournament, the Forest Games , on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the West Cafeteria of the Alphonse-Desjardins Pavilion. This friendly competition will bring together French-speaking forestry schools for technical and practical challenges: pre-commercial planting, maple syrup production test, tree identification and dendrometry, prism plot measurement, orienteering, godendart, and tape-measuring race.

Come and enjoy an immersive experience in the heart of the forest and celebrate the passion for this captivating environment!
