Congratulations to the participants of the My thesis in 180 seconds contest!

On March 16th, the My thesis in 180 seconds virtual competition was held! We would like to congratulate all the participants who took part in the game, whether they are students or professors, because it takes a lot of courage to take up such a challenge! Thanks also to all those who contributed to the organization of the event, the animation and the jury. Finally, thank you to the numerous and enthusiastic public who came to encourage the participants. We thank you warmly for your commitment to faculty life!

Here are the winners of the $180 prizes of the 2021 competition:

  • 1st Prize Anglophone – CRDIG Scholarship: Saeid Emamgholian – A New Neighbor: Happy or Not. Saeid Emamgholian is a PhD student in geomatics under the supervision of Jacynthe Pouliot and the co-direction of Davood Shojaei (University of Melbourne).
  • 1st Prize ex-aequo Francophone – FFGG Scholarship: Solène Pellerin (CRMR) – Comment nos planchers peuvent-ils nous protéger d’un incendie? Solène Pellerin is a PhD student in wood and bio-based materials engineering under the direction of Véronic Landry (UL) and Sophie Duquesne (Université de Lille).
  • 1st Prize ex-aequo Francophone – CEF Scholarship: Laurence Picard (CRMR) – L’automatisation de la construction : le futur. Laurence Picard is a doctoral student in mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Science and Engineering under the direction of André Bégin-Drolet and the co-direction of Pierre Blanchet (FFGG).
  • Public Choice Award – CRMR Scholarship: Solène Pellerin (CRMR) – Comment nos planchers peuvent-ils nous protéger d’un incendie?

Saeid Emamgholian will represent the FFGG at the institutional finals of the English-language component of the My thesis in 180 seconds contest in order to represent Université Laval at the Eastern Canada finals in June.

Solène Pellerin (CRMR) will represent the FFGG at the institutional finals of the French-language section in order to participate in the Acfas “Ma thèse en 180 secondes” competition.
