Congratulations to Maylis Carrère and Assira Keralta for winning the «Ron Cockcroft Awards 2024!»
We are delighted to announce that Maylis Carrère and Assira Keralta, two young researchers from Laval University and members of the Renewable Materials Research Centre, have been awarded the Ron Cockcroft Awards (RCA), worth US$1,500, to attend the « International Research Group on Wood Protection (IRG55) » conference in Knoxville, USA.
Maylis and Assira are PhD students in wood and bio-based materials engineering. Through an oral presentation, Maylis will present her research findings on the « development of exterior wood coatings from biobased raw materials ». Assira will also share her research on the « use of whey ultrafiltration permeate to enhance wood dimensional stability and resistance to micro-organisms » with an oral presentation.
