Congratulations to Laura Chrétien, who won first prize in the French-language category of the institutional final of the « Three-minute thesis » competition with her captivating presentation on  « Proteins at the Service of Adhesives ». Under the supervision of Véronic Landry, Laura also stands out by winning the People’s Choice Award and will have the honor of representing Université Laval at the grand final of the competition organized by Acfas.
On March 25, 2025, the final institutional round of the « Three-minute thesis » science communication competition gathered an enthusiastic audience to support the graduate students from Université Laval. This internationally recognized competition challenges participants’ science communication skills as they must present their research topic in a clear, concise, and captivating manner—all in just three minutes!
Laura Chrétien, a doctoral student in wood and bio-based engineering materials under the supervision of Véronic Landry, captivated the jury and the audience with her presentation titled  « Proteins at the Service of Adhesives ». Her dynamic and accessible talk earned her the first prize in the French-language category, as well as the public’s choice award. Thanks to this victory, she will have the honor of representing Université Laval at the national final organized by ACFAS, which will be held in Montreal on May 7, 2025.
A huge congratulations also goes to Lucie Dehon, a doctoral student in wood and bio-based engineering materials, also under the supervision of Véronic Landry, who brilliantly rose to the challenge of the English-language category with her presentation « Transforming Proteins into Super-Sticky Wood Adhesives ».  Lucie captivated the audience with her energy and the relevance of her research topic!
