Conference «Research Data Management » by Philippe Massicotte | March 11, 2026

11 March 2026

You are invited to the conference « Research Data Management», presented by Philippe Massicotte, which will take place on March 11, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Gene-H.-Kruger Pavilion (Room 2320-2330), Université Laval.

Philippe Massicotte is a research professional at Takuvik, the International Research Laboratory dedicated to understanding the Arctic and its rapid transformations.

In recent years, he has been responsible for cataloging and combining all the data from the Green Edge project, a research initiative focused on the Arctic phytoplankton bloom. His work led to the creation of a structured and reusable database, published as a data paper. This multidisciplinary project involved a remarkable diversity of data: ecological, spatial, and physical, which were sometimes stored and managed in a more or less optimal way. Drawing on this experience, he will present practical best practices for research data management to ensure the organization, accessibility, and long-term preservation of data.

This conference is open to anyone wishing to improve their daily research data management practices.
