Challenges and prospects for Quebec’s forestry sector: Nancy Gélinas and Michel Vincent shed light on the situation!

On 29 October, the first ever « Forestry Conference Coffee» was held. This inaugural event, entitled « Another perfect storm for the forestry sector? Where structure and economic conditions collide » Nancy Gélinas, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics at Laval University, and Michel Vincent, Forest Engineer at the Quebec Forest Industry Council, hosted the event.

Organised by the Ordre des ingénieurs forestiers du Québec, the Association des étudiants gradués en foresterie de l’Université Laval (AFOR) and the Canadian Institute of Forestry, the conference attracted a great deal of interest, setting an audience record with more than 330 participants. The conference shed valuable light on current economic issues in the Quebec forestry sector, addressing the structural and economic challenges affecting the industry. This unmissable presentation aims to provide a better understanding of the sector’s prospects and challenges in a fast-changing economic context.
