Call for Participation: Present Your Research at the Student Poster Competition – CRMR 2026 Annual Symposium!

Dear Students,

The Renewable Materials Research Centre (CRMR) is pleased to invite you to its Annual Symposium, held under the theme « Science in Motion: Building on Lessons Learned ».  The event will take place on October 14 and 15, 2026, in person, at Pavillon Gene-H.-Kruger (rooms 2320–2330), Université Laval.

The CRMR Annual Symposium is one of the Centre’s flagship scientific events, bringing together researchers, students, and collaborators to share and discuss recent advances in renewable materials research.

The program will feature student poster sessions and lightning presentations showcasing research projects, inspiring talks on recent scientific developments, and a panel discussion entitled « How Can We Redefine Scientific Performance? ».

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN – STUDENT POSTER COMPETITION

Registration for the Student Poster Competition is now open!

This event provides an excellent opportunity to present your research to the scientific community, exchange ideas with fellow participants, and receive constructive feedback on your project.

Two presentation sessions will be organized for master’s and doctoral students, regardless of the stage of advancement of their research project (early, mid-stage, or final phase).

This year, three participation formats are available:

  1. Poster Competition: Presentation of a scientific poster accompanied by a 3-minute lightning presentation using a single slide.
  2. Presentation of a scientific poster only
  3. Lightning Presentation Only :  A 3-minute oral presentation without a scientific poster.

⚠️ Important: To be eligible for the competition and have a chance to win a prize, participants must select Option 1, which includes presenting a scientific poster and delivering a 3-minute lightning presentation. Options 2 and 3 remain available for those wishing to present their work but are not eligible for competition prizes. Full details regarding participation requirements and competition criteria can be found in this  PDF document (Poster Competition).

Competition Prizes

  • $350 – Best Scientific Poster
  • $200 – Second Best Scientific Poster
  • $150 – Third Best Scientific Poster
  • $50 – People’s Choice Award

We invite you to register for one of the three participation options before September 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. by completing the registration form. A confirmation of participation, along with detailed information regarding presentation logistics, will be sent following the registration period.
