We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Mr. Jérémy Winninger, who has held since September 2, 2025, the position of Head of Laboratory Practical Work for the chemistry section of the Gene-H. Kruger laboratories, within the Department of Wood and Forest Sciences. In his new role, Jérémy will be responsible for overseeing all laboratory practical work, ensuring the smooth operation of the chemistry labs, and supporting both students and researchers in their experimental projects.
Well known to many of us, Jérémy earned a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Haute-Alsace. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship before taking on a research professional position within the CRMR and our department. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in wood chemistry, applied research, and advanced experimental techniques, along with a strong commitment to improving laboratory infrastructure and supporting scientific and educational activities.
His appointment to this position represents a wonderful continuity for our team: he brings not only his scientific expertise but also his knowledge of our internal processes and work culture, which will help optimize laboratory activities and enhance the quality of practical training provided to students.
We invite you to welcome him and take advantage of his expertise in your projects, collaborations, and laboratory work. His role will also be key in facilitating coordination between the different laboratories, ensuring safety and compliance with protocols, and supporting the development of new educational and experimental initiatives.
You can meet him in his office, GHK-2503, where he will be happy to engage with each of you and answer any questions.
