February 6, 2025, marks a key milestone in fire safety research for bio-based materials! The first fire performance test was successfully conducted at the new Fire Safety Laboratory of the Faculty of Forestry, Geography, and Geomatics at Laval University, in collaboration with FPInnovations.
Under the direction of Professor Christian Dagenais, this initial series of tests aims to better understand the fire behavior of bio-based materials and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for safer and more sustainable construction. These advancements will help optimize material performance while promoting their integration into the building sector.
This project highlights the growing importance of bio-based materials in the transition toward more ecological and resilient infrastructure. Congratulations to the entire team for this promising achievement!
Stay tuned for upcoming tests and exciting discoveries!
