Publication by Adrien Gaudelas on an innovative solution for building envelopes!

We are pleased to present Adrien Gaudelas’s paper, a PhD student at the CRMR, whose thesis is part of the CIRCERB program. His research uses corrugated panels in insulated structural panels as an alternative to light-frame structures. This work was carried out under Pierre Blanchet’s supervision and Louis Gosselin’s co-direction. Entitled “Design of a structural insulating panel based on wood-based corrugated panels as an alternative to light-frame construction”, this paper proposes an innovative solution for building envelopes by designing systems based on wood-based corrugated panels. Using a reverse engineering method and rigorous performance criteria (thermal resistance, mold index, environmental impact), prototypes were designed and tested over four years using COMSOL software. The results show that one of the prototypes outperforms conventional systems.
