Workshop: Creating a Successful Scientific Poster and Delivering an Effective Flash Presentation!
Would you like to present your research clearly, professionally, and effectively? This workshop is an ideal opportunity to develop your scientific communication skills and prepare effectively for the CRMR symposium.
As part of the preparation for the CRMR Symposium, which will take place on October 14 and 15, CRMR invites you to participate in a practical workshop focused on designing a high-quality scientific poster and preparing a compelling flash presentation.

Where? 📍 Gene-H.-Kruger Building, Université Laval, Room 2320-2330
Instructors :
- Julie Ferland, Teaching and Instructional Technician, will present the essential principles for designing an effective and attractive scientific poster.
- Alexandre Morin-Bernard, Professor in the Department of Wood and Forest Sciences, will share his advice on preparing and delivering a three-minute flash presentation that will capture the audience’s attention.
Workshop topics:
- Key elements of a successful scientific poster;
- Organization and prioritization of information;
- Best practices in visual communication;
- Expectations regarding the scientific content of posters presented at the symposium;
- Preparing and delivering a three-minute flash presentation;
- Strategies for effectively communicating your research project to different audiences.
The workshop will include an analysis of concrete examples of scientific posters to identify their strengths and areas for improvement.
Participants are also encouraged to bring or share their own poster so they can discuss it with the instructors and receive personalized feedback.
Target Audience: This activity is primarily intended for students but is also open to research staff, faculty members, and anyone seeking to improve their scientific communication skills.
