Professor Pierre Blanchet represents Université Laval in the INGUMA project, an international consortium dedicated to bio-based materials.
Université Laval is proud to take part in the European project INGUMA, a major initiative supported by the Horizon Europe program. This project brings together 15 partners from 9 countries with a shared goal: to foster innovation and strengthen international collaboration in the rapidly growing field of bio-based materials. Professor Pierre Blanchet, holder of the Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Buildings (CRC-BD), represents Université Laval within this dynamic consortium.
Until now, the general assemblies of the INGUMA project have been held exclusively in Europe. The 2025 edition, which will be the consortium’s fourth meeting, marks a significant milestone: for the very first time, Université Laval will host the European partners from July 2 to 4 at the Gene-H.-Kruger Pavilion (rooms GHK-2320-2330).
The program promises to be rich and engaging: a tour of the Renewable Materials Research Center (CRMR) laboratories, a site visit to a local manufacturing facility, and a « World Café » -style co-creation workshop bringing together key stakeholders from Quebec’s sustainable construction sector. This workshop will be a highlight of the event, fostering meaningful exchanges, the sharing of knowledge, innovative ideas, and common visions in a spirit of cross-sector collaboration.
Some members of the European delegation will extend their visit into the week of July 7, which will include additional industrial visits and a strategic meeting with Université Laval’s Vice-Rector of Research to deepen synergies and explore the potential benefits of the Horizon Europe program.
